The Institute for Advanced Technology and Public Policy is the brainchild of former State Senator Sam Blakeslee who served as its Founding Director.
Staff
Christine Robertson, Senior Advisor
Prior to joining the institute, Christine held senior staff positions in California's State Capitol including Chief of Staff to the Assembly Minority Caucus, Chief of Staff in the California State Senate, and Chief of Staff in the California State Assembly. Christine earned Bachelors degrees in both Political Science and History at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and a Masters degree in Philosophy, Policy and Social Values from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Foaad Khosmood, Research Director
is a Senior Research Fellow with the Institute for Advanced Technology & Public Policy's Open Government Initiative. He is the Forbes Professor of Computer Engineering and Assistant Professor of Computer Science, California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. Dr. Khosmood's research involves computational stylistics, natural language processing and artificial intelligence. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
George Will Cal Poly, Research Assistant
Prior to joining the institute, George held experiences in startups, innovation, and technology and politics. With a background in online media systems, political language, and data-based communications, his research spans various public policy areas relating to democratic fortification and transparency. He is a versatile project manager and researcher at the Institute, handling a variety of programming and special project activities. George earned a BA in Political Science, concentrating in Media, Technology, and Politics from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, where he was engaged in both Political Science and Entrepreneurship. www.linkedin.com/in/gmwill/ George Will Cal Poly
