ITT’s mission is to bring to life, critical technology breakthroughs required for providing access to food, electricity, clean water and primary healthcare. Since our inception, ITT has rapidly emerged as one of the world’s leading technology-for-impact organizations with a unique business model, an extraordinarily talented team, deep presence in countries where the work happens, and strong implementation partners. Our model takes a unique approach by considering scale from the onset: we start by deeply defining the problem, we leverage early stage technology from R&D institutions around the world, we engineer the technology into affordable, demand-based products and we partner with emerging market private sector actors with the footprint and capacity for scale. The outcome? A model that ensures user-centered design, market adoption and a scaling infrastructure for long-term sustainability. Our work is anchored in the 50 Breakthroughs Report, which rigorously analyzes the issues facing the global poor and identifies the pivotal technology breakthroughs required to solve these problems at scale. Our growing technology portfolio is focused on 4 key areas with projects in India, Kenya and Nigeria: A decentralized infrastructure for electricity, sanitation and water; new methods for producing and processing food; the next generation of medical devices; and environmental toxicity.
