The Institute of Migration was approved for its creation by the Governing Council of the University of Granada (in session held on March 13, 2009) and definitively created by agreement of the Social Council of the University of Granada (in session held on June 29, 2009)
There are 77 professors from the University of Granada who have enrolled in it. They belong to eight different centers of the University (Education Sciences, Law, Philosophy and Letters, Psychology, Political and Social Sciences, Translation and Interpretation and Social Work) and integrated in turn into a total of 19 Departments of different areas of knowledge.
The central objective of the Institute of Migration is the development of quality research, in national and international contexts, on all the phenomena associated with migrations and, from this research, dissemination of the knowledge produced through teaching and scientific production, without neglecting the corresponding social commitment to make such migratory phenomena more understandable to the whole of citizenship.
