Integrated Prosthetics and Reconstruction (IPR) is a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary initiative located within Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, a holistic and comprehensive cancer centre that treats public and private patients in partnership with Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (Sydney Local Health District).
IPR has three components:
1. A clinical point of care manufacturing facility;
2. Development of new technologies, treatment paradigms and innovative techniques in jaw reconstruction, prosthetics and dental rehabilitation;
3. An integrated translational research program to reduce morbidity and to improve the functional and aesthetic outcomes of patients undergoing craniomaxillofacial reconstruction for oral cancer.
