Inter-Ed traces its history as far back as 1980. In a time where studying abroad was an arduous process and a farfetched dream to most, Inter-Ed founders had a vision of helping students achieve their dreams of attaining education overseas. This vision slowly became a reality starting in the USA and Switzerland. In a span of five years, Inter-Ed became an official distribution center for the Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT), and Graduate Record Exams (GRE) bulletins.
Come 1988, it hosted the 1st Career Counseling & Guidance Fair in Manila where partner academic institutions helped students gain more perspective on the various opportunities available for them. Eventually, New Zealand, Canada, and Singapore were added to the list of locations available for students to consider in 1991. That same year, more than 3,500 students had already been successfully placed by Inter-Ed in foreign academic institutes and the first Philippine student to study medicine in the United Kingdom was accepted at Nottingham University.
The vision kept growing and progressed from helping students to educating them. Inter-Ed, with Dr. Genevieve Ledesma-Tan, co-founded Southville Foreign Colleges, today known as Southville (SISFU) – an international university offering programs from foreign universities in Business, Computer Graphics & IT, and Hotel Management in 1998.
In 2003, Inter-Ed was invited by Blue Horizons Travel & Tours to establish the world’s iconic student travel agency known as STA Travel.
By 2004, Inter-Ed had founded Future Perfect Business English Specialists, the prime English Language training company in the Philippines specializing in English workplace training for the Call Center & BPO industry.
