Nearly twenty years ago, Palestinian-American Aziz Abu Sarah and Jewish-American Scott Cooper, partnered together to co-found Mejdi Tours, a tourism company focusing on dual-narrative political tours in conflict zones throughout the world. Their goal as friends and business partners was to create a for-profit entity that would increase empathy, understanding, and incubate creative new solutions to war. Mejdi Tours has been praised by the United Nations, The New York Times, The Smithsonian, CNN and National Geographic, to name a few. MEJDI Tours’ groundbreaking multiple perspective approach to tourism allows travelers to gain a more comprehensive understanding of people, land, culture, and conflict.
After two decades of experience, Aziz and Scott decided to expand their vision. They started a US based non-profit (501c3) called InterAct. They understood that not everyone is able, or comfortable, to take a dual-narrative political tour into a warzone, and so Aziz and Scott came up with a new concept:
A non-profit InterActive Education Center, where we can bring the multi-narratives of conflict to the wider world, building empathy and understanding on a much larger scale.
