Intercast.fm is building a platform to power the global podcast economy. We’re differentiated by our focus on engaement/interactivity between podcasters and their audiences. Our belief is engagement creates community, community creates trust, trust is the basis of a moral economy, and vibrant moral economies beget human flourishing. We believe we’re still in the early days of podcasting - the industry is nascent. We believe it’ll grow into something big, far reaching, and formative... it’ll shape the way people understand their world. We happen to be starting as a player with interactive prompts/cards, but our vision is to build the highways and byways of engagement between podcasters and their audiences. We won’t build this alone. We're building a platform that’s open to others providing valuable services to podcasters. When we envision the future, we see a central place where the best podcasts will utilize the tools we and our partners have built to form deep communities where listeners can comment, read, learn, meet up in-person, like, share, and patronize. We believe most people can point to a podcast episode that changed their mind about something, helped them through a hard time, set them down a path, gave them the confidence they needed, or lit up their imagination. Unbelievably, there isn't a good way for podcasters or fellow listeners to know this is happening. The industry isn’t getting lift as a result. This is the problem we are solving.
