Our economy has continually existed at the intersection of "private cost" and "private benefit". The global "free market" economy operates, theoretically, on the "Marginal Cost = Marginal Benefits" framework. However, there are externalities to every corporate action, and individual consumption. There are positive, as well as negative, externalities. Carpooling, for example, has a positive externality compared to individual commute - it reduces emissions per mile traveled. On the other hand, private jets have significant negative externalities - emissions per mile is extremely high. Costs of goods and services should reflect the negative and positive externalities. These are seldom, if ever, priced in. We need to now operate in a "Marginal Social Cost" = "Marginal Social Benefit" framework. Internalize Externalities LLC is a data-driven consulting firm that assesses the complete spectrum of positive and negative externalities of products and services, and provides price ranges to allow corporations to achieve and exceed their ESG goals. This allows corporations to: 1. Achieve larger profits on goods/services that have high positive externality, 2. Raise significantly more funds to counter negative externalities through offsets, and through increased R&D funds. And equally as importantly, it allows our society to: 1.
