INTERPOL Ottawa

Canada became a member of INTERPOL in 1949 and it is still an active contributor to the Organization. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) operates Canada's National Central Bureau (NCB). NCB Ottawa is housed at RCMP National Headquarters, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It sits structurally in the Federal Policing International Special Services Branch of the RCMP. The NCB is staffed by police officers from a range of national, provincial and municipal law enforcement agencies, in addition to civilian and public service employees and services over 66 000 police officers from 380 police and law enforcement agencies across Canada. NCB Ottawa is the central connection between Canadian law enforcement and the 196 other INTERPOL member countries who require assistance in criminal investigations with a nexus to Canada. The NCB provides national law enforcement with access to INTERPOL's policing tools and services, including a wide range of global criminal databases. *** INTERPOL does not respond to requests from the general public.
