La raison d'être de l'interprofession du chanvre est d'apporter le plus de valeur ajoutée à l'agriculteur, pour ce faire InterChanvre fédère les acteurs de la filière chanvre, développe des actions de R&D sur l'amont et l'aval, gère les affaires publiques et promeut les avantages environnementaux et sociaux du chanvre français. A travers ces missions, l'objectif est de valoriser au maximum le travail des agriculteurs et de permettre à la filière de s'industrialiser.
Nous avons lancé un PSE, Prestation pour Services Environnementaux pour valoriser les atouts environnementaux a destination des entreprises souhaitant alimenter leur stratégie RSE.
Le chanvre produit quatre matières premières :
- La graine appelée chènevis (pour la protéine, l'huile ou la graine décortiquée),
- La fibre (pour le textile, les usages techniques, les isolants ou le papier)
- Le bois du chanvre appelé chènevotte (pour la construction, le paillage horticole ou la litière animale)
- Les molécules (en cosmétique et en complément alimentaire).
Sa production ne nécessite aucune irrigation, aucun phytosanitaire et ne génère pas de déchet, même la poussière générée lors du processus industriel est valorisée en énergie ou dans des applications techniques.
Le chanvre à d'autres atouts environnementaux, il capte énormément de C02 (15t/ha), améliore la qualité des sols et c'est un nid de biodiversité, cette liste est loin d'être exhaustive !
