About Interreg IPA HR-BA-ME

The Programme will support cooperation projects with EUR 106,987,000.00 which are available from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the IPA III Fund. The new Programme represents the continuation of the successful cooperation of the three countries in 2014-2020 period. The Programme mission, beside strengthening the social, economic and territorial development of the cross-border area, is to encourage and support cross-border cooperation to make the area more resilient to common challenges. The Programme will help to address main regional imbalances and contribute to reducing disparities in the development of the involved regions and will increase the capacity of the programme area to recover from the economic crisis. Strategic Programme objective is to foster smart, green and inclusive development of cross-border region through the implementation of joint projects that will be supported within the framework of three selected EU policy objectives: Smarter Europe, Greener Europe and More social Europe. The Programme envisaged 4 key priorities that can also be seen as a sort of continuation of the previous programme implemented in 2014-2020 period with certain new elements and characteristics desired in the new financial framework: Priority Axis 1 – Smart investments in research, innovation and competitive entrepreneurship Priority Axis 2 – Green investments in environmental protection and efficient risk management Priority Axis 3 – Accessible and resilient health services Priority Axis 4 – Sustainable and inclusive tourism and culture The Programme area is the same as the one from the previous 2014-2020 period and includes 12 counties in Croatia, Brčko District and 109 municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as 12 municipalities in Montenegro, which represents a total of 87,453.95 km² of territory and over 5.1 mil. inhabitants.
