About Io Energy (sold to SNL Financial, now S&P Global)

Io Energy rapidly became one of North America's premier providers of information and analysis for the energy business. Launched in 2001 by a team of former Financial Times Energy executives, managers, editors and reporters, Io Energy believed the best way to provide in-depth and complete coverage of energy markets is to employ teams specializing in each region that produce focused, regional products. Our staff included the former FT Energy publisher, former chief of pricing indexes, the former managing editors of Power, Gas and Coal, along with the former editors of (and founders of) Megawatt Daily, Gas Daily, Coal Outlook and many other former FT Energy products. Our sales and customers service were headed by the former director of sales for Public Utilities Fortnightly and the former director of inside sales for FT Energy. Io Energy was acquired by SNL Financial in September 2004 and renamed SNL Energy. SNL Financial merged with S&P in 2015 to become S&P Global.
