Malaysian Informatics and Programming Society (MIPS)

The Malaysian Informatics and Programming Society's (MIPS) mission is to support computing education for secondary and pre-university students in Malaysia. We organize several annual competitions like the Malaysian Computing Challenge (MCC) and the Malaysian Computing Olympiad (MCO). Through our competitions, we provide an opportunity for the top students in Malaysia to represent their country at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), the most prestigious international algorithmic computer programming competition at the secondary and pre-university levels. We have a rigorous selection process for the IOI that involves several stages, starting from the MCC, which is open to all Malaysian students. The best performers are then invited to undergo a series of selection tests and camps, through which the final four students are selected to represent Malaysia at the IOI. Since 2012, we have sent delegation teams to the IOI, showcasing the talented young programmers of Malaysia on the international stage.
