IoTAC (Security by Design IoT Development and Certificate Framework with Frontend Access Control) is an H2020 European research project to design, develop and operate more resilient IoT service environments. The technologies to be implemented, comprising front-end access control, and multiple runtime security features including AI-based detection models, honeypots, checkpointing and monitoring system, all integrated into a secure gateway, will provision security countermeasures both at hardware and softwarelevel.
Results of the project will be validated in four IoT use cases – industrial (remote terminal operation), consumer (smart home), automotive (autonomous car), and airborne (drone operation).
The consortium comprises 13 partners from 7 countries and includes all stakeholders of the IoT ecosystem, service operators, OEMs, technology providers, developers, security experts, as well as research and academic partners. The end-users will be involved by using a living lab environment. The project is coordinated by Atos Hungary Ltd. Further members are: Airbus Defence & Space SAS, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Centre for Research and Technology-Hellas, Deutsche Telekom Security GmbH, FhG FOKUS, Fundacion Tecnalia Research & Innovation, Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics, Intrasoft International SA, Kaspersky Lab S.L., QuanTag IT Solutions GmbH, SafePay Systems Ltd. and the Technische Universität Berlin.
