An independent 501(c)3 that manages Iowa City's designation as a UNESCO City of Literature. We promote the area's literary assets and culture, network and connect resources with needs, and offer programming that celebrates and enhances our literary community.
Programming highlights include major annual festivals the Iowa City Book Festival, One Book Two Book Children's Literature Festival, and the MusicIC Festival of chamber music and literature.
The organization also collaborates with local partners, including members of the Iowa City Downtown Arts Alliance and others in the literary sector.
As one of 53 UNESCO-designated Cities of Literature, and member of the 350-city Creative Cities Network, the Iowa City organization also collaborates with and learns from its peers around the world.
