IPAO (ILLITERACY AND POVERTY ALLEVIATION
ASSISTANCE ORGANIZATION) is a non-profit, non-governmental social development organization founded in 1996 by a group of passionate and socially committed individuals in Bangladesh. Our mission is to empower underprivileged communities—especially children, women, and people with disabilities—by promoting socio-economic development, education, health, rights, and sustainable livelihoods.
We work with grassroots communities to create lasting change through collective action, local resource utilization, and capacity building. Our interventions span across a wide range of sectors including:
– Education (formal, non-formal, and technical)
– Health and medical support
– Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH)
– Vocational training and women’s empowerment
– Poverty alleviation and housing
– Orphan care and rehabilitation
– Agriculture, livestock, and fisheries

Starting from Kishoreganj, IPAO has expanded its programs to Dhaka and several other districts, with a strong focus on rural development and social justice.
