IPCRG Overview

The IPCRG is a charitable company registered in Scotland, managed by a Board of Directors; it is the Respiratory Special Interest Group of WONCA Europe and an organization in collaborative relations with WONCA global. It represents primary care on the World Health Organization’s Global Alliance against chronic Respiratory Disease (WHO-GARD). It is a primary care non-governmental organisation (NGO) with a special interest in long term lung conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and allergic rhinitis as well as tobacco dependence with a philanthropic mission to share and spread evidence for the public good. It is both an organisation of organisations and a multi-national community of practice. We develop and mobilise national groups whose members are primary and community healthcare professionals with a respiratory interest. We initiate networking between colleagues sharing similar practical and research questions, data and learning about the prevention, diagnosis and management of long term lung conditions in low, middle and high income countries. We are committed to demonstrating the value of primary care in improving the respiratory health of populations.
