About Institute of Plasma Physics and Lasers (IPPL) - HMU
The Institute of Plasma Physics and Lasers (IPPL) of the University Center for Research and Innovation of the Hellenic Mediterranean University is located in Rethymno in a modern building of special specifications that host the ZEUS-45TW, the most powerful ultrashort pulsed laser system in Greece. It is one of the two access points of the National Research Infrastructure HELLAS-CH and is an internationally recognized pole of research innovation and education in its scientific field. The main scientific areas of the IPPL are: the interaction of intense laser with matter or/and plasma, the optoelectronic pulsed power devices for dense plasma generation, the secondary sources of radiation and particles from plasma and their applications, the optoacoustic applications using lasers.
