IPPT_TWINN: Reinforcing the scientific excellence and innovation capacity in polymer processing technologies of the Faculty of Polymer Technology

Goal: The main goal of the project is to increase the knowledge and competencies of FTPO in the field of polymer materials processing through joint research work and the organization of various events/activities, such as 18 workshops (all on polymer processing; injection moulding, extrusion, 3D printing, mould design, composites, simulations in polymer processing,…), 3 summer schools (Composite technologies, Advanced technologies in injection moulding, Compounding technologies) expert visits, 3 international conferences, (1. Challenges, trends and solutions in developing and processing recycled materials, 2. Challenges, trends and solutions in developing and processing biobased products, 3. International conference on metal replacement and lightweight composites) etc.

The goal of the research part of the project: To develop a hybrid technology that allows the production of high-performance composite structures with a thermoplastic matrix that can be recycled (combines T-RTM, injection moulding and additive manufacturing, within the production of a single part).
