About iProtectInnovation

Join PanOptis, an IP management company formed in 2013, in our effort to expose Apple’s blatant holdout business practices and ensure the tech giant pays the billions it owes innovators across multiple industries. Despite Apple having painted itself as one of the most innovative and creative companies in the world, it has a history of undermining inventors and innovators. Apple is a market bully, exploiting the courts and a sprawling, parasitic tech ecosystem to benefit from innovations by public, private, and small companies, all the while attempting to evade fair compensation—ultimately undermining the lifeblood of technological innovation. Typical of its unfair practices, and as detailed in its own devised scheme, Apple forces innovators who’ve developed crucial technologies for their products, such as cellular connectivity (e.g., LTE), to resort to costly lawsuits against them instead of agreeing to a fair license. Apple’s approach to intellectual property and innovation reveals a distinct pattern: exploiting innovative technologies that support and differentiate its products, while putting in place policies which have the effect of devaluing said technologies – all with the aim of maximizing its own profits . This strategy not only cripples cellular R&D by disincentivizing its outputs, but also distorts the overall tech landscape and, if left unaddressed, has the potential to stagnate our mobile technological progress in the long-term. Cellular technology is worth trillions in iPhone sales to Apple and they refuse to pay their partners fairly for the development and use of this technology.
