Interdisciplinary Research Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (IRC-SES) is one of the pioneer Saudi national research entities established by the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. IRC-SES has won multiple national and international awards for its efforts. The center actively supports the establishment of local renewable energy technologies in research institutions and industries for nationwide benefit through academic activities and research, utilizing synergies to stimulate innovation and economic development. The research activities at the center are focused on solar and wind energy, hybrid power system design and optimization, resource assessment, and related applications.
IRC-SES is a great pioneering reflection of sustainable development in the Kingdom through the utilization of science, research, and industries related to renewable energy. The primary focus is to elaborate and execute a development plan to centralize solar, and net zero technology research, development, manufacturing, education, and capacity building. We aim and hope to move forward towards the future in the quest of knowledge and with a mission to empower researchers and students to become excellent human resources for the research and development of renewable energy technologies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as per its Vision 2030.
IRC-SES multidisciplinary research approach is focused towards excellence in alternative and clean energy efficient related academic research and development solutions for the benefit of the KSA. The clusters also have the potential to transfer technology for end-users through the industry and a way to utilize the state-of-the-art laboratories and the integration of trained manpower diversified representation and inclusion into the workforce.
