IRESSEF - Institute for Health Research, Epidemiological Surveillance, and Training

Inaugurated in 2017 by the former President of the Republic of Senegal, IRESSEF is a public utility institute dedicated to improving public health in Senegal and Africa. With a technical platform equipped with the most advanced and modern technologies, IRESSEF plays a key role in the surveillance of infectious diseases, emerging and re-emerging diseases, in particular by actively contributing to the surveillance of infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, viral hepatitis and recently the study of SARS-CoV-2 variants during the COVID-19 pandemic, arbovirus epidemics and increasingly non-communicable diseases and AMR using the One Health approach. Led by its founder, Professor Souleymane Mboup, IRESSEF is recognized by the Senegalese Ministry of Health and Social Action (MSAS). Thanks to its collaboration with national and international organizations, IRESSEF has established itself as a major player in global public health.
