Iris, The Film & Photography Society, P.G.D.A.V. College

Iris is the Film and Photography Society of PGDAV COLLEGE, University of Delhi. Iris accommodates photographers, filmmakers, videographers, scriptwriters, and moviegoers of all genres and categories, offering them a diverse platform to participate in society's premier cultural events. We provide growing space for our members to explore and grow their love of movies, filmmaking, and photography and also encourage and promote our members to participate in various inter-college and intra-college competitions PAN India. Being a member of Iris, one is provided with ample opportunities to hone their skills and explore the importance of teamwork, event management, soliciting sponsorships, public relations, and comprehending the technicalities of logistics in addition to photography, film making, video editing, scriptwriting, graphic designing. We provide growing space for our members by conducting various workshops from video editing, creative direction to editing breakdowns in collaboration with other colleges, industry experts, and professionals. Every year, Iris hosts a photographic exhibition that attracts over 400 visitors. These shows are a fantastic approach to bringing new photographers' work to the notice of the public. These exhibitions are organized under Aagaaz, the annual fest of PGDAV College. It is the ideal location for displaying one's artistic creations. We also host a variety of photography and filmmaking competitions as part of our yearly festival, Ebullience, where we have received over 150+ entries from students from a variety of colleges. However, since the pandemic hit us, we've moved these competitions to an online mode, allowing individual artists to display their talents across India. Our society has bagged several accolades in premier institutions such as IIT Roorkee, World Photography Club, and UNIECE, and various college events. We like to explore, create, and recreate to grow and learn.
