The Institute for Refractive and Ophthalmic Surgery (IROC) was founded in 2002. Within ten years from the original 5 people, IROC has grown into a team of 25 people. In 2005, the company moved into a larger practice at Stockerstrasse 37 in Zurich. Since early 2009, IROC also operates an external operating room at Bärengasse near the Paradeplatz.
Thanks to many years of practical experience in eye surgery, and intensive research, both nationally and internationally, IROC is known as a highly qualified and ultra-modern eye centre. This is confirmed, among other things, by the ISO 9001 certification.
IROC has not only performed several hundred operations in all areas (laser and eyelid surgery, cataract surgery, etc.), but also has a stable order situation at the research and development department.
The worldwide recognised and succesfull UV-cross linking of the cornea was invented and developed within the IROC facilities in Zürich.
