Aujourd'hui, au Québec, c’est près de 2500T/an de tubulures d'érablières usagées et environ 11000T/an de déchets agricoles soit l’équivalent de 45 piscines olympiques de déchets plastiques qui, détériorent l'écosystème et, génèrent une forte empreinte écologique des secteurs acéricoles/agricoles. C‘est dans l’optique de contribuer significativement à la réduction d’une grande quantité de déchets plastiques acéricoles/agricoles que le projet Irri-Blière a vu le jour.
Irri-Blière, est un projet d'économie circulaire et sociale qui consiste à transformer les tubulures d’érablières usagées en boyaux recyclés permettant l’alimentation de systèmes d’irrigation goutte-à-goutte pour les jardiniers/maraîchers.
