About Institute of Health and Society (IRSS-UCLouvain)

Since 2010, the Institute of Health and Society (IRSS) at the Université catholique de Louvain has provided multidisciplinary research aimed at improving quality of life and health at both individual and population levels in Belgium and abroad. The Institute relies on the collaboration of practitioners and researchers from various disciplines to examine health determinants and disentangle the complexity of interactions between individuals and society. The Institute aims to become a research centre of excellence in its field through international publications, PhD projects, scientific research, and participation in international research programmes, and also through the development of a network of collaborations. Its main objectives are to: - Promote excellence in scientific output - Support the capacity building among young researchers on the long-term - Disseminate socially-relevant and useful scientific findings
