Officially established in 1925, the Department of Integrated Systems Engineering offers degrees in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the BS, MS, and PhD levels. Both undergraduate and graduate programs are consistently ranked in the top 20 of US News and World Report, among others, and our students find success across a broad range of industries.
The core strengths of the department are: Human Systems Integration (cognitive and physical ergonomics), Manufacturing Process Engineering (processes and systems), and Operations Research & Analytics. Building on these core strengths, the Department is heavily involved in integrative and interdisciplinary research and instruction, and ISE Faculty provide college-wide leadership to these activities in disproportionate numbers. Three of the faculty are members of the National Academy of Engineering, as well as numerous Fellows in professional societies such as INFORMS, IEEE, and HFES.
