The Intersectoral Forum on Agrobiodiversity and Agroecology (ISFAA) is a national multistakeholder forum that seeks to promote mainstreaming of biodiversity and ecosystem services within the agriculture sector and its landscapes through agroecology. Established in 2020, the main purpose of ISFAA is to enable stakeholders from government, private sector, civil society, academia, farmer groups, and the donor community working on agroecology and agrobiodiversity to interact, dialogue, share knowledge or information, mobilize resources and influence policy and practice towards catalyzing agroecological transformation of our agri-food systems. ISFAA appreciates the need to consistently reposition itself in the increasingly dynamic operating environment to assure continued relevance and responsiveness. The Forum is hosted at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD). It brings together stakeholders at the intersection of biodiversity conservation and agricultural production to share knowledge and information as well as influence policy. It also implements programmes, and monitors progress on mainstreaming biodiversity and ecosystem services in the agricultural sector. ISFAA is equally committed to supporting the development of innovative approaches that support agrobiodiversity and agroecology approaches, while effectively addressing the Climate challenges on food systems. The Forum’s work is implemented through seven Thematic Working Groups (TWGs) which act as its think tank.
