This page provides updates about the existing and upcoming standards developed at ISHRAE. The Standards Core Committee spearheads the standard development efforts. Each standard is set within WTO principles of transparency, openness, consensus and impartiality, market relevance and effectiveness, coherence, and development mission.
Since 2012, the standards committee has overseen the development of the Chiller Standard (adopted by BIS), Indoor Environmental Quality Standard, VRF Standard (submitted to BIS). The development of the AHU Standard, Filter Standard, and the Standard for the Commissioning of HVAC Systems is complete. The AHU and Filter standards have also been submitted to BIS for adoption. Evaporative Cooling Standard is in process. The development of the ISHRAE India Building Energy Performance Standard is underway.
The standard development process considers Indian weather conditions, manufacturing practices, and operating conditions for new standard development requests. All new standards are developed while ensuring fair competition for Indian manufacturers in the Indian market and transparency from designer to end-user level.
