Mechanical Engineers is someone who deals a lot with mechanical equipment and yes with piping as well. What we will do in this Newsletter is to dive in in depth, not so much on theory but more on design requirements, guidelines and proficiency in using International Codes and Standards. So you would expect that the Newsletter will cover issues frequently discussed among engineers in the Consultant firm, Operating companies and also Refinery plant facilities. The main intention of Engineer’s Newsletter is to assist fresh and graduate engineers to bridge the gap between classroom theory and oil and gas industry insights and also to empower the next generation of mechanical engineers in the oil and gas sector. To start off (in the coming Newsletter) we will dive into Heat Exchangers. Namely; Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers Air Cooled Heat Exchangers. The International Code and Standards that we will be using is ASME VIII Div 1, TEMA and API 660. Although i did my homework and tried my best to write contents that are relatable, i would still need your feedback. So if there is any topic that would be of interest to you, write back.
