What does digital transformation mean for business? What are the implications for a company’s strategic management? Which organizational structures enable innovation and sustainable competitive advantage? At ISTO, we are trying to gain insights into questions like these.
By applying a broad range of methods (for example, econometric and formal-mathematical models), our goal is to contribute to the research community and develop recommendations for management decisions.
Specifically, our research covers the areas of strategy, technology, and organization and in particular its intersections. Work at ISTO currently revolves around three research areas: (Digital) platform markets, dynamic competition, and boundaries within and across firms.
In teaching, we provide our students with relevant specialist and methodological knowledge during lectures, seminars, and project courses while, thus, enabling students to make responsible and scientifically well-founded strategic decisions.
