ISUFIran

During ISUF 2019 in Nicosia, the idea of an Iranian network of urban morphology was conceived in conversations with Vítor Oliveira. With his encouragement, it was decided to do a project on reviewing the studies of urban form in Iran to clarify the leading scholars of urban morphology in this country. The project ended with an article published in the Journal of Urban morphology in April 2022 (Abaee, 2022). Part of the contributors who addressed the Iranian urban form with a transparent disciplinary approach recognised for the establishment of the Iranian network. However, it must be said that the study of urban form in Iran suffers from linguistic, terminological and disciplinary biases. For us, it was a great honour to present the process of establishing the Iranian network to the ISUF council in the Lodz and Cracow conference this year. During recent months, the Iranian network of urban morphology has benefited from the generous supports of Vítor Oliveira and Giuseppe Strappa.
