ITAU – Instituto Técnico de Alimentação Humana, S.A., is a Portuguese corporation that manages and supplies public and private restaurants, canteens and cafeterias throughout Portugal.
ITAU was the first operator on the mass catering market, having started in 1963 with General Motors’ cafeteria with just 4 employees. Today we employ more than 4000 employees and operate in several hundred clients with annual sales over 90 million Euros.
Since its foundation ITAU has produced and served more than 500 million meals in schools, hospitals and prisons, establishing itself as the absolute leader on those markets.
ITAU is certified by APCER – Associação Portuguesa de Certificação, since 1999.
Pursuant to its strict quality policies ITAU was the first Portuguese corporation on the Food Services Market to achieve the ISO 9001:2000 certificate (Quality Management Systems).
