Institute for Training and Development

The Institute for Training and Development (ITD) is a private nonprofit organization based in Amherst, Massachusetts. ITD specializes in designing and implementing tailor-made courses, training and internship programs, and exchanges for NGO leaders, government officials, educators, students, business people, community leaders, and many others. Since its founding in 1985, ITD has provided training for over 6,000 participants from more than 100 countries through funding from the Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, individual Fulbright Commissions, USAID, World Bank, FAO, UNDP, UNICEF, Peace Corps, private businesses, and foreign governments. ITD works closely with faculty from the Five Colleges (University of Massachusetts, Amherst College, Smith College, Hampshire College, and Mount Holyoke College) to ensure the appropriate expertise is incorporated into all of our education and training programs.
