About ITI Scottish Network
The ITI Scottish Network (ScotNet) is one of the regional networks of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), the foremost professional body in the UK for practising translators and interpreters. ITI members have either taken the Institute's examinations or been able to demonstrate a high level of competence acquired through experience. We are bound by a strict code of professional conduct and undertake CPD. Services offered by our members ScotNet members cover a wide range of languages (at the moment, 26!) and work in a broad spectrum of technical, commercial, legal, artistic and scientific disciplines, from automotive engineering to tourism and from biotech to the whisky industry. In addition to translation and interpreting, some members offer terminology research, editing, subtitling, voiceovers, foreign language tuition and copywriting. All in all, providing comprehensive language services to Scottish and international businesses. If you are seeking a skilled linguist, either immediately or for a future project, please consult our website's directory at https://itiscotland.org.uk/members/type/iti-qualified-members/ or email us. Joining the network Membership of the Scottish Network is open to all professional and aspiring translators and interpreters with ties to Scotland. We encourage and promote being or becoming a member of the ITI alongside membership of ScotNet, but we also offer a short-term membership category called “Friend of the Network” which might benefit some translators and interpreters. For enquiries about joining the network, please use our contact form at https://itiscotland.org.uk/membership-signup/. While most ScotNet members live in Scotland, we hail from many countries across the globe and some of us with strong ties to Scotland live in other parts of the UK and abroad. We are a fantastic support network run by volunteers. We usually organise 4 CPD and other networking events per year in a very convivial atmosphere.
