Established in 1973, Instrument Transformers Ltd (ITL) has expanded nationally and internationally such that it we are now an internationally known name in the field of power measurement and protection.
Since our inception we have been located in East Kilbride, Scotland specialising in the design and manufacture of low voltage current transformers for electricity utilities, switchgear, panel board and generator manufacturers. Supplying a wide range of Current Transformers and Voltage Transformers for accurate measurement, control and protection of LV, MV and HV electrical power systems. Continuing to grow our product lines with our global partners adding instrument transformers with insulation levels of 11kV, 17.5kV, 24kV, 33kV, 66kV, and 72.5kV with 145kV added in 2009.
2013 has seen ITL move a short distance to new facility allowing a doubling of capability for Production, Design & Administration.
The hub of our activities, manufacturing has also had additional investment with a new dual head winding machine, making it possible to wind & insulate at the same time for transformers with inside diameters greater than 700mm.
The year 2014 is a perfect example of our ongoing focus on products & processes improvement as we are now ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certified.
It is a testament to our original founder, current business owners & successive management teams that has embraced and imparted such noble values as integrity, honesty and empathy to everyone that has contact with our company.
