Grief is a universal emotion that can overwhelm both children and adults. When we lose a loved one, we often experience a range of emotions, including sorrow, loneliness, and even anger.
FOG (For Our Grieving) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and professional environment for individuals and families of all ages dealing with loss. We offer encouragement, support, resources, education, and strength to those coping with grief.
Founded by Tamesha Rouse in 2011, FOG was born out of her personal experience with profound loss. After losing her sister Talaya in 2010 and her own children shortly thereafter, Tamesha felt as though the world was closing in on her. She described this period as being engulfed in fog, unsure of how to move forward. "Nothing was clear to me anymore," Tamesha recalls. "It felt as if the fog never let up, and it was just one thing after another. I went to a dark place and wasn't sure how I was going to get out."
One day, Tamesha emerged from the fog with a newfound clarity and purpose: to help others heal, find hope, and embrace their present moment. From this vision, FOG was born.
