ITSTIME – Italian Team for Security, Terroristic Issues & Managing Emergencies ITSTIME è un centro di ricerca del Dip. di Sociologia dell’Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano. Il nostro approccio multidisciplinare consente di condurre ricerche e proporre soluzioni relative alle tematiche della sicurezza tenendo conto della pluralità delle diverse prospettive che le caratterizzano. La mission del gruppo è tripartita: 1 ) occuparsi degli aspetti che riguardano la SICUREZZA, intesa come la condizione risultante dall’inserimento e mantenimento di misure per la promozione del benessere dei cittadini e della democratica vitalità delle istituzioni 2) trattare il tema del TERRORISMO, inteso come minaccia duratura che deve essere prevenuta attraverso l’implementazione di misure appropriate 3) gestire le EMERGENZE per la realizzazione di buone pratiche utili sia ai cittadini che alle istituzioni SICUREZZA, TERRORISMO e gestione delle EMERGENZE sono considerati aspetti chiavi della Sicurezza Nazionale. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ITSTIME is a research center of Department of Sociology of the Catholic University of Sacred Heart, Milan. Our multidisciplinary approach allows us to develop and conduct research focused on security issues from different perspectives. ITSTIME addresses both theoretically and empirically the new challenges in the post 9/11 world. The missions of the project are threefold: 1) To address SECURITY , intended as a condition that results from the establishment and maintenance of protective measures able to promote citizens’ wellness and democratic vitality of the institutions 2) To deal with TERRORISM, as a long term threat that must be addressed through preventive and well-constructed measures 3) To manage EMERGENCIES in order to develop helpful practices both for citizens and institutions. SECURITY, TERRORISM and EMERGENCIES management are considered key elements of Homeland Security.
