Independent University Alumni Association at Lowell, Inc.

The Independent University Alumni Association dates back to 1900 when alumni of Lowell Textile School first began to reunite, organize and give back to their Alma Mater. With the merger of LTI and Lowell State College in 1974, the Association added another rich history in predecessor alumni. Since 1947, the Alumni Association has given over 2.5 million dollars in scholarships and grants to students and community at the campuses that now comprise UMass Lowell. The Independent Alumni Association is made up, entirely, of volunteers and members who believe in giving students a hand-up to help them meet the financial challenges of a college education.
