The International Center for Ethics in the Sciences and Humanities (IZEW) is an interdisciplinary research center at the University of Tübingen. As a central, cross-faculty institution, the IZEW is dedicated to ethical issues that arise in the context of scientific developments and their social implications. The focus is on the program of “Ethics in the Sciences,” which reflects on questions of responsibility within scientific practice. In addition, the center houses a specialized library on scientific ethics that is unique in Europe.
