Jack Tighe established the company in 1954, following a successful cycling career in which he represented his country on the track and was selected for the Olympic Games. The business began with Jack and an apprentice; we have since grown into one of the largest painting contractors in the UK.
Tighe Group consists of four companies Jack Tighe Ltd, Jack Tighe Scunthorpe Ltd, Jack Tighe Coatings Ltd and Jack Tighe Decorating Ltd.
Jack Tighe Ltd, with our head office based in Lincolnshire are specialists in on-site industrial painting, UHP water jetting, blast cleaning methods and applying specialised coatings. We work in many sectors including Marine, Rail, Highways, Petro-chemical, Energy and Construction. We also have regional offices in Portsmouth, South Wales and Glasgow.
The Tighe group has two factories based in Scunthorpe and Doncaster, both of which offer shot blasting and application of multi-coat paint systems. The off-site facilities have large laydown and storage areas to accomodate any major project, along with easy access to the motorway network.
Jack Tighe Decorating Ltd, based in Darlington, work across a range of sectors including defence, education, health, retail, leisure, housing, and heritage. We work directly with Councils, Universities, colleges, and housing providers.
