Jahanara meaning “queen of the universe” was the daughter of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan. A force to be reckoned with, she embodied a quiet power like her father and grandfather before her. Her spacious living quarters had walls inlaid with jewels, and a marble, bathing basin surrounded with flowers and vials of perfume.
