Sinds 1966 combineren we bij Jan Maes traditie en knowhow in de uurwerk- en juweliersbranche. De passie voor mechanica, precisie en schoonheid wordt al drie generaties lang doorgegeven. Een vierde generatie maakt nu haar opwachting met evenveel liefde voor het vak.
De roots van Jan Maes liggen bij een groothandel in goud, die grootvader Jan Maes (eerste generatie) tot 1958 runde. Die expertise leidde tot een eigen juwelierswinkel, waarin hun zoon Jan (tweede generatie) al snel meedraaide als uurwerkmaker.
Ook diens dochter An Maes (derde generatie) kreeg de smaak van juwelen te pakken. Samen met haar vader opent zij in 1986 een gloednieuw filiaal in het Koopcentrum van Sint-Niklaas. En in 1997 volgt een winkel in het Wijnegem Shopping Center, die An samen met haar echtgenoot Patrick leidt.
Twee jaar later barsten de filialen uit hun voegen en wordt het tijd voor een nieuw concept. Maes on Time opent zijn deuren in Sint-Niklaas. Een winkel zonder deuren of drempels, waar trendy uurwerken en juwelen uitnodigen om rustig te snuisteren.
Speciaal voor de fashionista's ontwikkelden ze een ander concept: Grace & Glory. Hier vind je vooral de prijsbewuste fashionmerken terug.
