Jane's Walk is a movement of free, citizen-led walking tours inspired by Jane Jacobs. The walks get people to tell stories about their communities, explore their cities, and connect with neighbours.
Our mission is to activate the ideas of Jane Jacobs and honour her legacy by supporting a community-based approach to city building through citizen-led walking tours that make space for people to observe, reflect, share, question and collectively reimagine the places in which they live, work and play.
Jane’s Walks are organized by civic innovations, urban activists, and community organizers in over 200 cities around the world. With guidance from the Project Office, these City Organizers work at the grassroots level to coordinate and support Walk Leaders, promote walks, and steward the movement locally.
