Japan Network for Public Interest Activities (JANPIA), a general incorporated foundation, was established in 2018 by initiatives of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) seeking networking and engagement among all the social sector, business sector, labor sector, academic sector, and more to help address social issues in Japan by promoting public interest activities.
JANPIA was selected in 2019 by the Japanese government as a Designated Utilization Organization under the Act on Utilization of Funds Related to Dormant Deposits to Promote Public Interest Activities by the Private Sector.
JANPIA envisions itself as “a catalyst for building a sustainable society, leaving no one behind,” and, along with Funds Distribution Organizations, upports those who take on social issues as “Players (that conduct relevant activities)” and promotes public interest activities by the private sector to contribute to SDGs.
