Established in 1991, JAOS aims to promote responsible and high-quality study abroad services through ethical standards, professional development, and collaboration.

• Certification of study abroad counselors through JACSAC (Japan Certified Study Abroad Counselor)
• Hosting educational seminars, conferences, and general meetings
• Conducting nationwide surveys and publishing market insights
• Operating the JAOS Partnership Program (JPP) to connect global schools with Japanese agents
• Promoting global talent development through public-private-academic collaboration
