Judith A Scholefield & Associates was founded by Speech and Language Therapist, Judith Scholefield, in 2003. Since then, the company has expanded and we now employ a team of therapists specialising in the assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing difficulties resulting from neurological impairment.
Our therapists are able to work with both adolescents and adults and we have extensive experience working with a variety of conditions, including; acquired brain injury (ABI), stroke, degenerative neurological conditions and cerebral palsy.
We offer a wide range of services including:
- Assessment of speech, language and communication disorders using formal and informal assessment.
- Assessment of swallowing difficulties including a videofluoroscopy service based at the Spire, Leeds.
- Writing individualised therapy plans and person-centred goal planning.
Providing Neuro Muscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) treatment for dysphagia.
- Multi-disciplinary team working.
- Providing education and training to families and care teams in relation to communication and swallowing difficulties.
- Writing Medico-legal and expert witness reports for personal injury / Coroner's Court and Criminal Court.
Our therapists are based throughout the North of England and can typically travel up to 2 hours one way to provide input into a variety of settings, including: clients’ homes, neuro-rehabilitation facilities, schools etc.
