For many years, Dstv has created their competitive advantage for all categories of business establishment by delivering the most commercially valued and engaging section of international television and radio channels at a click of every customer's remote control. Due to the changes in the Dstv business model, the company CEO said they are positioning their offerings "home of local and sports" as a differentiator to compete in the streaming market. However, the growing popularity of Dstv competitors; showmax.com, YouTube.com, Netflix.com, etc, has substantially enhanced rivalry in the digital entertainment industry. Our assignment will, therefore, analyze whether the 'disruption' in the entertainment industry creates opportunities and will provide insights as to how best companies can sustain their value proposition in the new world.
