JendaGbeni Communications Hub

The JendaGbeni Centre for Social Change Communications (JendaGbeni Comms) is a non-profit organization registered in Sierra Leone in 2020. Our mission is to bolster social movements through strategic communication and storytelling. The name "JendaGbeni," derived from the endangered Kim/Krim language, means "Tell Them a Story," highlighting our commitment to using storytelling to build narratives that promote fairness, solidarity, and dignity that will centre the lives of the most marginalised sections of society including Indigenous people, women, disabled. JendaGbeni CSCC believes in the power of ordinary citizens to drive societal change through collective action. We aim to empower African social movements with effective communication strategies to challenge systemic injustices such as patriarchy, neocolonialism, mass poverty, and climate change. The Purpose of the Project: Establishment of movement building hub integrated into strategic communications and storytelling centre to advance peace, ecological, social and economic justice and African self-determination. We seek to use the power of imagination, narrative power and storytelling to challenge power and promote active citizenship, social and economic justice and create a platform for hitherto marginalized voices to be heard so that we can deepen democracy, advance peace, African self-determination and social and economic justice for all.
