JENGE KULTURE is a non-profit that works to leverage the power of solidarity to promote socio-economic empowerment among Africa's youth while strengthening local economies. We act as a catalyst - advancing resilient and inclusive local economies by strengthening solidarity-based systems that support Africa's creative, innovative and entrepreneurial youth. Through collaboration, shared infrastructure, cooperative financing, capacity-building, and policy advocacy, we work to help youth access the resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to build sustainable livelihoods, shape culture, and drive social and economic transformation across Africa. JENGE Kulture is a non-profit registered in Kenya as a company limited by guarantee. OUR MISSION: Strengthening solidarity systems for sustainable economies. We exist to catalyze social and economic impact by strengthening solidarity-driven systems that support youth and youth-led enterprises in building sustainable and inclusive livelihoods. OUR VISION: Resilient & inclusive local economies. We envision economies where youth and youth-led enterprises flourish through strong, collaborative, and sustainable support systems. WHY JENGE? The name ‘JENGE’ is truncated from the Swahili word ‘TUJENGE’ that means ‘LET US BUILD’. JENGE is a Pan-African philosophy of growth, progress, and development through solidarity-driven action, underpinned by 3 fundamental principles: Solidarity, Sustainability and Collective Agency.
